حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ قَالَ: نَا زَيْدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ. عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَأَنْتَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا نَفْسِي. فَقَالَ: لَا، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ. قَالَ عُمَرُ: فَأَنْتَ الْآنَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ نَفْسِي. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " الْآنَ يَا عُمَرُ
Translation

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and he was holding the hand of Umar b. al-Khattab. Umar said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than everything except my own self." He said: "No, by Him in whose hand is my soul, until I am more beloved to you than your own self." Umar said: "Now you are more beloved to me than my own self." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Now, O Umar."
