حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ: مَتَى تُوتِرُ ؟ " قَالَ: أُوتِرُ لِأَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ، وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ: " مَتَى تُوتِرُ ؟ " قَالَ: أُوتِرُ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَخَذَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِالْحَزْمِ "، وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ: " أَخَذَ بِالْقُوَّةِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Bakr: 'When do you perform witr?' He said: 'I perform witr at the beginning of the night.' And he said to 'Umar: 'When do you perform witr?' He said: 'I perform witr at the end of the night.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Abu Bakr adopted caution, and 'Umar adopted strength.'
