✧ Wretched is the slave of the dinar, wretched is the slave of the dirham, wretched is the slave of the khamisa. If he is given, he is pleased, and if he is denied, he is displeased. Wretched and turned upside down; and if he is pierced by a thorn, may it never be extracted. Blessed is a servant who holds the reins of his horse in the path of Allah, his hair disheveled and his feet dusty: if assigned to guard duty, he is in the guard; if assigned to the rear, he is in the rear; if he intercedes, his intercession is not accepted; if he seeks permission, it is not granted to him.
