وَعَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِيَّاكُمْ وَمُحَقَّرَاتِ الْأَعْمَالِ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ يَجْتَمِعْنَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ حَتَّى يُهْلِكْنَهُ "، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ضَرَبَ لَهُنَّ مَثَلًا كَمَثَلِ قَوْمٍ نَزَلُوا بِأَرْضٍ فَلَاةٍ، فَحَضَرَ صَنِيعُ الْقَوْمِ، فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِكَذَا، وَالرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالْعُوَيْدِ، حَتَّى جَمَعُوا مِنْ ذَلِكَ سَوَادًا كَثِيرًا، ثُمَّ أَجَّجُوا نَارًا، فَأَنْضَجَتْ مَا قُذِفَ فِيهَا

Translation

✧ "Beware of the sins that are considered insignificant, for they accumulate against a man until they destroy him." Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave them the example of people who camped in a desolate land, and meal time came. So one man brought this, and another brought a small stick, until they gathered a large pile of that, then they kindled a fire, and it cooked whatever was thrown into it.
