✧ When the Prophet of Allah ﷺ was taken on the night journey and then morning came in Makkah, he sat apart in sorrow. The enemy of Allah Abu Jahl came to him and said mockingly: 'Has anything happened?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What?' He said: 'I was taken on a night journey to Jerusalem.' He said: 'And then you woke up among us?' He said: 'Yes.' He did not show that he disbelieved him, fearing that if he called his people, they would reject the story. He said: 'What if I call your people? Will you tell them what you told me?' He said: 'Yes.' Abu Jahl said: 'Tell your people what you told me.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'I was taken on a night journey last night.' They said: 'To where?' He said: 'To Jerusalem.' They said: 'And then you woke up among us?' He said: 'Yes.' Some clapped, some put their hands on their heads in astonishment at the lie, as they claimed. Among the people were some who had traveled to that mosque. He said: 'Can you describe the mosque for us?' He said: 'Yes.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: 'I described it to them until some of the description became unclear to me. Then the mosque was brought and placed before me, and I looked at it, and I continued to describe it to them while looking at it, until it was placed near the house of Aqil—or the house of Iqal.' The people said: 'As for the description, by Allah, he has got it right.'
