حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، قَالَ: نَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حِصْنٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي سَرَّاءُ ابْنَةُ نَبْهَانَ، وَكَانَتْ رَبَّةَ بَيْتٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ:
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: هَلْ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا ؟ " قَالَتْ: وَهُوَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي يَدْعُونَ يَوْمَ الرُّءُوسِ، قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذَا أَوْسَطُ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ ". قَالَ: " هَلْ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ بَلَدٍ هَذَا ؟ " قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: " هَذَا مَشْعَرُ الْحَرَامِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَعَلِّي لَا أَلْقَاكُمْ بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا، أَلَا وَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا، فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا، حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ فَيَسْأَلَكُمْ عَنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ، أَلَا فَلْيُبَلِّغْ أَدْنَاكُمْ أَقْصَاكُمْ، أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ " فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ لَمْ نَلْبَثْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا حَتَّى مَاتَ، ﷺ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the Farewell Pilgrimage: “Do you know which day this is?” She said: He was referring to the day that they call the Day of Heads. They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “This is the middle of the Days of Tashriq.” He said: “Do you know which land this is?” They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “This is the Sacred Mash‘ar.” Then he said: “I may not meet you after this year of mine. Verily, your blood, your wealth, and your honour are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, until you meet your Lord and He asks you about your deeds. So let those of you who are present convey to those who are absent. Have I conveyed the message?” When we arrived in Madinah, we did not remain but a short time until he died ﷺ.
