✧ Ali b. Abi Talib came out to us in intense heat wearing winter clothes, and he came out to us in winter wearing summer clothes. Then he called for water, drank it, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and returned to his house. I said to my father: 'O father, did you not see what the Commander of the Believers did? He came out to us in winter wearing summer clothes, and he came out to us in summer wearing winter clothes.' Abu Layla said: 'I did not notice.' So he took his father's hand and went to Ali, and told him what he had done. Ali said to him: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me while I had sore eyes, and he spat into my eyes and said: "Open your eyes." I opened them, and I have not suffered from them until this hour. And he prayed for me, saying: "O God, remove from him heat and cold." So I have felt neither heat nor cold until this day of mine.'
