حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَ: نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:
لَا تَنَافُسَ بَيْنَكُمْ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ: رَجُلٌ أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قُرْآنًا، فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ، يَتَّبِعُ مَا فِيهِ، فَيَقُولُ رَجُلٌ: لَوْ أَنَّ اللهَ أَعْطَانِي مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَى فُلَانًا، فَأَقُومُ بِهِ كَمَا يَقُومُ. وَرَجُلٌ أَعْطَاهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ وَيَتَصَدَّقُ، وَيَقُولُ رَجُلٌ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

✧ There is no envy except in two cases: a man to whom Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has given the Quran and he recites it during the hours of night and day, following what is in it, so a man says: If only Allah had given me the like of what He gave so-and-so, I would recite it as he recites. And a man to whom Allah has given wealth and he spends and gives charity, and a man says the like of that.
