And ʿUmar claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught them to him: The greetings, the prayers, the good things, the blessed things are for Allah. Peace be upon the Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.

machine translationIbn Lahīʿah narrated it from Jaʿfar b. Rabīʿah, from Yaʿqūb b. al-Ashajj, from ʿAwn b. ʿAbdullāh, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ. Al-Walīd b. Muslim and ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf al-Tinnīsī traced it back (asnadahu) from Ibn Lahīʿah. We do not know of anyone other than him who raised it (marfūʿ) from ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ. The preserved (maḥfūẓ) version is what ʿUrwah narrated from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbd al-Qārī, that ʿUmar used to teach the people the tashahhud, as his own statement, not raised to the Prophet (ghayr marfūʿ). And Allah knows best.
