وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ: إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللهِ وَالْفَتْحُ السُّورَةَ، نُعِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَفْسُهُ حِينَ أُنْزِلَتْ، فَأَخَذَ فِي أَشَدِّ مَا كَانَ اجْتِهَادًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الْآخِرَةِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ: جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللهِ وَجَاءَ الْفَتْحُ، وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ. فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ ؟ قَالَ: " قَوْمٌ رَقِيقَةٌ أَفْئِدَتُهُمْ، لَيِّنَةٌ قُلُوبُهُمُ، الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ، وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ
Translation

✧ When the surah “When the help of Allah comes and the victory” was revealed, the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was announced to him when it was revealed. He then began the most intense exertion in the matter of the Hereafter. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said after that: “The help of Allah has come, victory has come, and the people of Yemen have come.” A man said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, who are the people of Yemen?” He said: “A people whose hearts are tender and whose inner selves are soft. Faith is Yemeni and understanding is Yemeni.”
