عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَزْهَرَ حَدَّثَهُ. عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِشَارِبٍ وَهُوَ بِخَيْبَرَ، فَحَثَا فِي وَجْهِهِ التُّرَابَ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَضَرَبُوهُ بِنِعَالِهِمْ، وَبِمَا كَانَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ، حَتَّى قَالَ لَهُمُ: " ارْفُقُوا، فَرَفَقُوا، فَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتِلْكَ سُنَّتُهُ ثُمَّ جَلَدَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فِي الْخَمْرِ أَرْبَعِينَ، ثُمَّ جَلَدَ عُمَرُ، أَرْبَعِينَ صَدْرًا مِنْ إِمَارَتِهِ، ثُمَّ جَلَدَ ثَمَانِينَ فِي آخِرِ خِلَافَتِهِ، ثُمَّ جَلَدَ عُثْمَانُ، الْحَدَّ أَرْبَعِينَ، ثُمَّ مُعَاوِيَةُ، الْحَدَّ أَرْبَعِينَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was brought a drinker while he was at Khaybar. He threw dust in his face, then commanded his companions, and they struck him with their sandals and whatever they had in their hands, until he said to them: 'Be gentle.' So they were gentle. The Messenger of God ﷺ passed away, and that was his sunnah. Then Abu Bakr flogged for wine forty lashes. Then Umar flogged forty lashes at the beginning of his rule, then he flogged eighty at the end of his caliphate. Then Uthman flogged the prescribed punishment of forty, then Mu'awiyah the prescribed punishment of forty.
