حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ النَّوْفَلِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ أَبِي السَّمْحِ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ. عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

يَقْبِضُ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ قَبْضًا، وَيَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ مَعَهُمْ، فَيَنْشَأُ أَحْدَاثٌ يَنْزُو بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ نَزْوَ الْعِيرِ عَلَى الْعِيرِ، وَيَكُونُ الشَّيْخُ فِيهِمْ مُسْتَضْعَفًا

✧ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, takes the scholars by taking [them], and takes knowledge with them. Then there arise young people who leap upon one another like a wild ass upon a wild ass, and the old man among them is deemed weak.
