حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ. عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:
لَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ غَزْوَةِ حُنَيْنٍ، وَكَانَ بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ، سَأَلَهُ النَّاسُ، وَرَهَقُوهُ، فَخَافَتْ نَاقَتُهُ، فَأَخَذَتْ سَمُرَةٌ بِرِدَائِهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: رُدُّوا عَلَيَّ رِدَائِي، أَتَخَافُونَ عَلَيَّ الْبُخْلَ ؟ فَوَاللهِ لَوْ أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِثْلَ عَدَدِ سَمُرِ تِهَامَةَ نَعَمًا لَقَسَمْتُهُ بَيْنَكُمْ، ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُونِي بَخِيلًا، وَلَا جَبَانًا، وَلَا كَذَّابًا، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ قَسْمِ الْخُمُسِ قَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ يَسْتَحِلُّهُ مَخِيطًا أَوْ خِيَاطًا. فَقَالَ: " رُدُّوا الْخِيَاطَ وَالْمِخْيَطَ، فَإِنَّ الْغُلُولَ عَارٌ وَنَارٌ وَشَنَارٌ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ثُمَّ رَفَعَ وَبَرَةً مِنْ ذِرْوَةِ سَنَامِ بَعِيرٍ، فَقَالَ: مَا لِي مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا مِثْلُ هَذِهِ إِلَّا الْخُمُسَ، وَالْخُمُسُ مَرْدُودٌ عَلَيْكُمْ

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ returned from the battle of Hunayn, and was on part of the road, the people asked him and pressed upon him, and his she-camel became frightened. A samura tree caught his cloak, so the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Return my cloak to me. Do you fear stinginess from me? By God, if God granted you as many camels as the number of samura trees of Tihama, I would distribute them among you, and you would not find me stingy, nor cowardly, nor a liar.' Then when it came to dividing the fifth, a man stood up asking him to consider lawful a needle or thread. He said: 'Return the thread and the needle, for theft from the spoils is disgrace, fire, and shame upon its people on the Day of Resurrection.' Then he picked up a hair from the top of a camel's hump and said: 'I have nothing from what God has granted you as spoils, not even the like of this, except the fifth, and the fifth is returned to you.'
