حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّعْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ: نَا رَبَاحُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ. عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ:

سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَصْمًا عِنْدَ بَابِهِ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ يَأْتِينِي الْخُصُومُ، فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَهُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَبْلَغَ فِي حُجَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْضٍ، فَأَقْضِي لَهُ وَأَحْسِبُ أَنَّهُ صَادِقٌ، فَمَا أَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ مِنْ حَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا أَوْ لِيَدَعْهَا

✧ The Prophet ﷺ heard disputants at his door, so he went out to them and said: 'O Allah, I am only a human being. Disputants come to me, and perhaps one of them is more eloquent in his argument than another, so I judge in his favor and think he is truthful. Whatever I judge in his favor from a Muslim's right, it is only a piece of the Fire, so let him take it or leave it.'
