✧ Umm Sulaym sent me with fresh dates to the Prophet ﷺ on a plate, when the date palms first ripened. He said: I entered upon him and placed it before him, and he ate some of it. Then he took my hand and we went out. He had recently married Zaynab bt. Jahsh. He passed by some of his wives, and with them were men conversing. They congratulated him, and the people congratulated him, saying: 'Praise be to Allah who has gladdened your eye, O Messenger of Allah.' He continued until he came to Aisha, and there were two men with her. He disliked that, and when he disliked something it was known in his face. So I went to Umm Sulaym and informed her. Abu Talha said: 'If what your son says is true, something will surely happen.' When evening came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, ascended the pulpit, and recited this verse: 'O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you...' the entire verse.
