✧ Regarding the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'like a niche'—he said: 'the inner being of Muhammad ﷺ.' And 'the glass' is 'his heart,' and 'the lamp' is 'the light that is in his heart. It is lit from a blessed tree'—the tree is Ibrahim, 'an olive, neither eastern nor western'—'neither Jew nor Christian.' Then he recited: 'Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a hanif, a Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists.'
