حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرَ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ يَخْضِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ لَا يَخْضِبُ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

✧ I saw Abu Bakr al-Siddiq dyeing with henna and katam. 'Umar did not dye. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever grows a gray hair for the sake of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.'
