✧ A daughter of the Messenger of God ﷺ passed away, and they used to carry men and women on biers alike. So I said: O Messenger of God, I was in Abyssinia, and they are Christians, People of the Book, and they make for a woman a coffin above which are ribs, disliking that anything of her form be described. Shall I make for your daughter a coffin like it? He said: "Make it." So she is the first for whom a coffin was made and used in Islam — for Ruqayyah, daughter of the Messenger of God.
