حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْجَارُودِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَبِي قَالَ: نَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، يَعْنِي الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيَّ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ. عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ:

إِنِّي لَشَاهِدٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي حَلْقَةٍ، وَفِي يَدِهِ حَصًى، فَسَبَّحْنَ فِي يَدِهِ، وَفِينَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ وَعَلِيٌّ، فَسَمِعَ تَسْبِيحَهُنَّ مَنْ فِي الْحَلْقَةِ، ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُنَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَسَبَّحْنَ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، سَمِعَ تَسْبِيحَهُنَّ مَنْ فِي الْحَلْقَةِ، ثُمَّ دُفِعْنَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَبَّحْنَ فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُنَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَسَبَّحْنَ فِي يَدِهِ، وَسَمِعَ تَسْبِيحَهُنَّ مَنْ فِي الْحَلْقَةِ، ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُنَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، فَسَبَّحْنَ فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُنَّ إِلَيْنَا، فَلَمْ يُسَبِّحْنَ مَعَ أَحَدٍ مِنَّا

✧ I was present with the Prophet ﷺ in a circle, and in his hand were pebbles. They glorified Allah in his hand, and among us were Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali. Those in the circle heard their glorification. Then the Prophet ﷺ handed them to Abu Bakr, and they glorified with Abu Bakr, and those in the circle heard their glorification. Then they were returned to the Prophet ﷺ, and they glorified in his hand. Then the Prophet ﷺ handed them to Umar, and they glorified in his hand, and those in the circle heard their glorification. Then the Prophet ﷺ handed them to Uthman b. Affan, and they glorified in his hand. Then he handed them to us, and they did not glorify with any of us.
