وَعَنْ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ. عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدٍ قَالَ:
أَتَى مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ الْمَلَكَانِ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ. فَقَالَ الْآخَرُ: زِدْهُ. فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَسْتَزِيدُهُ، حَتَّى قَالَ: اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ
Translation

✧ The two angels came to Muhammad ﷺ. One of them said: 'Recite the Qur'an in one mode.' The other said: 'Increase for him.' He kept asking for more until he said: 'Recite the Qur'an in seven modes.'
