حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: نَا مِسْكِينُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ. عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ اخْتَصَمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ لِلْمُدَّعِي: " أَحْضِرْ بَيِّنَتَكَ "، فَلَمْ تَكُنْ لَهُ بَيِّنَةٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " فَإِنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَيْهِ " فَضَجَّ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: يَذْهَبُ حَقِّي بِيَمِينِهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِهَا حَقُّ أَخِيهِ بَاطِلًا، لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَلَمْ يُزَكِّهِ، وَلَهُ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَهَا الرَّجُلُ نَكَلَ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ، وَأَقَرَّ لِلرَّجُلِ بِحَقِّهِ

✧ Two men brought a dispute to the Prophet ﷺ. He said to the claimant, “Bring your proof.” He had no proof, so the Prophet ﷺ said, “Then the oath is upon him.” The man was distressed by that and said, “My right will be lost by his oath.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever swears an oath by which he intends to take the right of his brother falsely, God will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify him, and he will have a painful punishment.” When the man heard that, he refrained from the oath and acknowledged the other man's right.
