✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ was in Makkah, he would recite the Qur'an aloud. The polytheists would drive people away from him and say: “Do not listen to this Qur'an, and make noise during it, so that you may prevail.” When he made his recitation quiet, those who wished to hear the Qur'an could not hear it. So God, Mighty and Majestic, sent down: “And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly, but seek a way between that.”
