al-Mu'jam al-Awsat 100

Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'My father died without performing Hajj. Shall I perform Hajj on his behalf?' He said, 'Do you think if your father had a debt and you paid it off, would it be settled on his behalf?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then perform Hajj on behalf of your father.'
