عن معاوية
"إِنَّ أَهل الْكتِابينِ افترقُوا في دِينِهم علَى ثِنتينِ وسبعِين ملَّةً، وإِنَّ هذه الأُمَّة ستفترِقُ علَى ثلاثٍ وسبعِين مِلَّةً، وكُلُّها في النَّارِ إِلَّا واحِدةً، وهِى الْجماعةُ، وإِنَّها ستخرجٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِى أَقْوام تتجارى بِهِم تلك الأهواءُ كما يتَجارى الكَلَبُ بصاحبه، فَلا يبقَى مِنْهُ عِرق، وَلا مَفْصَل إِلَّا دخَلَهُ".
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Muʿāwiyah b. Abū Sufyān
✧ Indeed, the people of the two scriptures divided into seventy-two sects in their religion, and indeed this nation will divide into seventy-three sects, all of which will be in the fire except one, and it is the congregation. And there will emerge from my nation people whom those desires will carry away as rabies carries its victim, leaving no vein or joint except that it enters it.
