أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أنا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ مَطَرٍ، أنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، نا ابْنُ عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ،
قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَرْتَبِعُونَ حَجَرًا، فَقَالَ: " مَاذَا الَّذِي أَرَاكُمْ تَرْتَبِعُونَهُ؟ " قَالُوا: نَرْتَبِعُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ؟ " قَالُوا: وَمَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " رَجُلٌ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ، قَالَ: إِنِّي وَهَبْتُ عِرْضِي لِمَنْ شَتَمَهُ "، قَالَ ﷺ: " أَيَعْجَزُ أَحَدُكُمْ مِثْلَ أَبِي ضَمْضَمٍ؟ " قَالَ: وَمَنْ أَبُو ضَمْضَمٍ؟ قَالَ: " رَجُلٌ مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ، قَالَ: اللهُمَّ إِنِّي وَهَبْتُ عِرْضِي لِمَنْ شَتَمَهُ " كَذَا قَالَ: عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَالصَّحِيحُ رِوَايَةُ مَنْ

He said: "A man among those who were before you, who, whenever he went out from his house, would say: O Allah, I have given my honour to whoever insults him."
