He said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was in shabby condition. He said: "Do you have any wealth?" I said: Yes. He said: "What kind of wealth?" I said: Of every kind of wealth: camels, horses, sheep, and slaves. He said: "Then when Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen on you." Then he said: "Do the camels of your family give birth with their ears sound, and then you take a razor and cut their ears, and say: These are buḥur, and you slit them, or slit their skins, and say: These are ṣurum, and you make them forbidden for yourself?" He said: Yes. He said: "What Allah has given you is lawful. Allah's forearm is stronger than your forearm, and Allah's razor is sharper than your razor." I said: O Messenger of Allah, a man whom I stayed with did not host me and did not honor me, and then he stayed with me. Shall I repay him for what he did, or shall I host him? He said: "Rather, host him."
