أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ زَيْدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْعَلَوِيُّ، وَأَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ الْمُقْرِئُ بِالْكُوفَةِ، قَالَا: أنا أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دُحَيْمٍ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، نا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، نا رَجُلٌ،
قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلِيٌّ، وَعُمَرُ مِنَ الطَّوَافِ فَإِذَا هُمَا بِأَعْرَابِيٍّ مَعَهُ أُمٌّ لَهُ يَحْمِلُهَا عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ، وَهُوَ يَرْتَجِزُ وَيَقُولُ: [البحر الرجز] أَنَا مَطِيَّتُهَا لَا أَنْفِرْ... وَإِذَا الرِّكَابُ ذُعِرَتْ لَا أُذْعَرْ لَبَّيْكَ اللهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ... بِمَا حَمَلَتْنِي وَرَضَّعَتْنِي أَكْثَرْ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ:" مُرَّ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ، ادْخُلْ بِنَا الطَّوَافَ، لَعَلَّ الرَّحْمَةَ تَنْزِلُ فَتَعُمَّنَا"، قَالَ: فَدَخَلَ يَطُوفُ بِهَا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: أَنَا مَطِيَّتُهَا لَا أَنْفِرْ... وَإِذَا الرِّكَابُ ذُعِرَتْ لَا أُذْعَرْ لَبَّيْكَ اللهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ... وَمَا حَمَلَتْنِي وَأَرْضَعَتْنِي أَكْثَرْ وَعَلِيٌّ يُجِيبَهُ:" [البحر الرجز] إِنَّ تَبَرَّهَا فَاللهُ أَشْكَرْ... يُجْزِيكَ بِالْقَلِيلِ الْأَكْثَرْ"
