machine translationMuslim narrated it in the Ṣaḥīḥ, that Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb [narrated it] from Ibn Wahb. The Shaykh said: "This hadith indicates that he had two rings, one of which had an Abyssinian bezel, and the other had a bezel from it. In the hadith of Muʿayqīb, he had a ring of iron with silver wound around it, and perhaps it was on his hand. None of the hadiths states that it was apparent between the two. Abū Sulaymān al-Khaṭṭābī, may Allah have mercy on him, disliked wearing rings on both hands, and wearing two rings on one hand, and claimed that it is considered unseemly in praiseworthy customs and approved manners, and is not the dress of the distinguished among people. He did not consider it good for a man to wear a ring except a single engraved ring, for need of it for himself, not for its beauty and the brilliance of its color."
