أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْخَالِقِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَنْبٍ، حدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّبَذِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ الْأَدْرَعِ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ
قَالَ: جِئْتُ لَيْلَةً أَحْرُسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِعَبْدِ اللهِ ذِي الْبِجَادَيْنِ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ عَالِيَةً قِرَاءَتُهُ قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي أَمِرَاءٌ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: مَعَاذَ اللهِ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ ذُو الْبِجَادَيْنِ قَالَ: ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلَمَّا رُفِعَ نَعْشُهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " ارْفُقُوا بِهِ رَفَقَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ حَضَرَ حُفْرَتَهُ " فَقَالَ: وَسِّعُوا لَهُ وَسَّعَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَهُ: " أَحَزِنْتَ بِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ "؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ "

Then he attended his grave and said: "Make room for him, may Allah make room for him." Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "Are you grieved for him, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Indeed, he loves Allah and His Messenger."
