أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ، أخبرنا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ،
قَالَ: كُنْتُ قَاعِدًا عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ وَبَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْحَسَنُ: هات " يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ دَعَوَاتٌ لِإِخْوَانِكَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ وَصَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي أَيُّ النِّعْمَتَيْنِ أَفْضَلُ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْكُمْ، أَنِعْمَةُ الْمَسْلَكِ، أَمْ نِعْمَةُ الْمَخْرَجِ إِذْ أَخْرَجَهُ مِنَّا؟، قَالَ: الْحَسَنُ: " لَقَدْ قُلْتَ عَجَبًا يَا بَكْرُ إِنَّهَا لَمِنْ نِعَمِهِ الْعِظَامِ "

He said: I was sitting with al-Ḥasan, and Bakr b. ʿAbdillāh al-Muzanī was there. Al-Ḥasan said to him: "Come, Abū ʿAbdillāh, with some supplications for your brothers." So he praised God and extolled Him and invoked blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Then he said: "By God, I do not know which of the two blessings is greater upon me and upon you: the blessing of the path, or the blessing of the exit, when He brought him out from among us?" Al-Ḥasan said: "You have said something wondrous, Bakr. Indeed, it is among His great blessings."
