أَخْبَرَنا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْهِرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ،
يَقُولُ: " مَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً إِلَّا وَأَنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا أَنْ أَكُونَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ مُسَافِرًا "
