The virtue of isbaghil-wudu' (performing wudu' properly) during times when it is difficult to do so

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلاَءُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ:
«أَلاَ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا وَيَرْفَعُ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ؟» قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «(١) إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ، (٢) وَكَثْرَةُ الْخُطَا إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ، (٣) وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلاَةِ، فَذَلِكُمُ الرِّبَاطُ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Shall I not direct you to that by which Allah erases sins and raises ranks?” They said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “(1) Performing ablution thoroughly despite hardships, (2) taking many steps to the mosques, and (3) waiting for the next prayer after the prayer; that is the ribat (steadfast vigilance).”
