أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلاَنَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
إِنَّمَا الإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا

Ḥayyān, one of the trustworthy (thiqāt) narrators whom al-Bukhārī and Muslim used as evidence. Moreover, he was not alone in this addition; Abū Saʿd Muḥammad b. Saʿd al-Anṣārī al-Ashhalī al-Madanī, who settled in Baghdad, corroborated him on it. He heard from Ibn ʿAjlān and is trustworthy (thiqah); al-Nasāʾī and Ibn Maʿīn declared him trustworthy.
