  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationNo one narrated this hadith as a connected, attributed report (musnad) except Simāk b. Ḥarb, from Saʿīd b. Jubayr, from Ibn ʿUmar. Simāk is trustworthy (thiqah) according to some and considered weak (muḍaʿʿaf) by others. Ibn al-Mubārak used to say: "Simāk b. Ḥarb is weak (ḍaʿīf) in hadith," and the position of ʿAlī regarding him was similar to this.
