✧ We visited ʿUtbah ibn Farqad, and we mentioned the month of Ramadan. He said, “What are you talking about?” We said, “The month of Ramadan.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘In it the gates of Paradise are opened, in it the gates of the Fire are closed, and in it the devils are chained. A caller calls out every night: O seeker of good, come forward; and O seeker of evil, desist.’” Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman said, “This is a mistake.”
