machine translationIsmāʿīl b. Muḥammad b. Saʿd narrates it, and ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar al-Makhramī transmitted it from him. There is disagreement about it from him. A group narrated it, among them Yaḥyā b. Yaḥyā, Khālid b. Makhlad, Abū ʿĀmir al-ʿAqadī, Abū Salamah al-Khuzāʿī, whose name is Manṣūr b. Salamah, a noble man from whom Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal used to take, and Abū Saʿīd, the freedman of Banū Hāshim, whose name is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbdullāh, and others, from him, from Ismāʿīl, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd, from Saʿd. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Mahdī contradicted them and erred in it: he narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar, from Ismāʿīl b. Muḥammad, from his father, from Saʿd. The correct version is the hadith of ʿĀmir. It was also narrated from Ṣāliḥ b. Kaysān, from Ismāʿīl b. Muḥammad b. Saʿd, from Saʿd, as a mursal report. Likewise it was said from Abū Bakr b. Abī Shaybah, from Khālid b. Makhlad, from ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar, from Ismāʿīl b. Muḥammad, from Saʿd. I said: It has been said from Muḥammad b. Khālid al-Dimashqī, from Marwān b. Muḥammad, from ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar, the same as the statement of Ibn Mahdī. He said: No attention is paid to it.
