أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الْأَمْوَالِ بِالدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي وَيَذْكُرُونَ كَمَا نَذْكُرُ وَيُجَاهِدُونَ كَمَا نُجَاهِدُ وَلَا نَجِدُ مَا نَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ «ألَا أُخْبِرُكُ بِشَيْءٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَهُ أَدْرَكْتَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكَ وَلَمْ يَلْحَقْكَ مَنْ كَانَ بَعْدَكَ إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قُلْتَ تُسَبِّحُ اللهَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتَحْمَدُهُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتُكَبِّرُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً» خَالَفَهُ شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَرَ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

Translation

✧ I said: “O Messenger of God, the wealthy have taken this world and the Hereafter: they pray as we pray, they remember as we remember, they wage jihad as we wage jihad, and we do not find anything to give as charity?” He said: “Shall I not inform you of something by which, if you do it, you will catch up with those before you, and no one after you will catch up with you, except one who says the like of what you say? Glorify God after every prayer thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four takbirs.” Sharik b. Abd Allah disagreed with him; he narrated it from Abd al-Aziz b. Rufay’ from Abu Umar from Umm al-Darda’ from Abu al-Darda’.
