أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ الْفُقَرَاءُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الدُّثُورِ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ بِالدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى وَالنَّعِيمِ الْمُقِيمِ يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي وَيَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ وَلَهُمْ فُضُولُ أَمْوَالٍ يَحُجُّونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْتَمِرُونَ وَيُجَاهِدُونَ وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ؟ قَالَ «ألَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ إنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ أَدْرَكْتُمْ مَنْ سَبَقَكُمْ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكُّمْ أَحَدٌ بَعْدَكُمْ وَكُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِ إِلَّا أَحَدًا عَمِلَ مِثْلَ أَعْمَالِكُمْ؟ تُسَبِّحُونَ وَتَحْمَدُونَ وَتُكَبِّرُونَ خَلْفَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ» [64] خَالَفَهُ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَوَاهُ عَنْهُ جَرِيرٌ

✧ The poor came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: “The wealthy owners of ample property have taken the high degrees and lasting bliss: they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they have surplus wealth with which they perform Hajj, perform Umrah, wage jihad, and give charity.” He said: “Shall I not inform you of something by which, if you take hold of it, you will catch up with those who preceded you, and no one after you will catch up with you, and you will be the best of those among whom you live, except anyone who does the like of your deeds? Glorify, praise, and magnify God after every prayer thirty-three times.” [64] Abd al-Aziz b. Rufay’ disagreed with him; he narrated it from Abu Salih from Abu al-Darda’; Jarir narrated it from him.
