أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَرَ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَتْ نَزَلَ بِأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ضَيْفٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَمُقِيمٌ فَنُسَرِّحَ أَمْ ظَاعِنٌ فَنَعْلِفَ؟ قَالَ

ظَاعِنٌ قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي مَا أَجِدُ مَا أَضِيفُكَ بِهِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْهُ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ذَهَبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَمْوَالِ بِالْخَيْرِ يَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ وَيُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا أَمْوَالٌ نَتَصَدَّقُ؟ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ ألَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إنْ أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَهُ لَمْ يَسْبِقْكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكَ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْكَ مَنْ كَانَ بَعْدَكَ إِلَّا مَنْ جَاءَ بِمِثْلِ مَا جِئْتَ بِهِ؟ تُسَبِّحُ اللهَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتَحْمَدُهُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتُكَبِّرُهُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ» [65] خَالَفَهُمَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَرَ الصِّينِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

✧ A departing (traveler) said: “Indeed I find nothing better to honor you with as a guest than something about which I asked the Prophet ﷺ. I asked the Prophet ﷺ; I said: ‘O Messenger of God, the wealthy have taken the good: they fast as we fast, they pray as we pray, and they give charity, but we have no wealth to give as charity?’ He said: ‘O Abu al-Darda’, shall I not guide you to something which, if you do it, no one before you will outstrip you, and no one after you will catch up with you, except one who comes with the like of what you came with? Glorify God after every prayer thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four times.’” [65] Sufyan b. Sa’id disagreed with both of them; he narrated it from Abd al-Aziz b. Rufay’ from Abu Umar al-Sini from Abu al-Darda’.
