✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The sun has not risen nor set on a day better than Friday.” [41] Then Ka'b came to us, and Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned an hour on Friday during which no believer praying and asking Allah for something is denied it. Ka'b said: He spoke the truth, by the One who honored him. And I will tell you two things, so do not forget them: When you enter the mosque, greet the Prophet ﷺ and say: “O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy.” And when you leave, greet the Prophet ﷺ and say: “O Allah, protect me from Shaytan.” Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Ibn Abi Dhi’b is more reliable in our view than Muhammad b. 'Ajlan and al-Dahhak b. 'Uthman regarding Sa'id al-Maqburi, and his hadith is more correct in our view. And success is by Allah. Ibn 'Ajlan confused the hadiths of Sa'id al-Maqburi—what Sa'id narrated from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, and Sa'id from his brother, from Abu Hurayrah, and others from Sa'id's shaykhs—so Ibn 'Ajlan made them all from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah. Ibn 'Ajlan is trustworthy, and Allah knows best.
