أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَلِيلِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ أَيَا أَبَهْ إِنِّي أَسْمَعُكَ تَدْعُو كُلَّ غَدَاةٍ اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ثَلَاثًا حِينَ يَعْنِي تُصْبِحُ وَثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُمْسِي وَتَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ تُعِيدُهَا ثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَثَلَاثًا حِينَ يَعْنِي تُمْسِي؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو بِهِنَّ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنِ أسْتَنَّ بِسُنَّتِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ثِقَةٌ

Translation

✧ He said to his father: 'O father, I hear you supplicating every morning: O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no deity except You—three times when you enter morning, and three times when you enter evening. And you say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave—you repeat it three times when you enter morning and three times when you enter evening?' He said: 'Yes, O my son. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ supplicating with them, and I love to follow his Sunnah.' Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Ja'far b. Maymun is not strong in hadith, and Abu 'Amir al-'Aqadi is trustworthy.
