✧ The Disagreement Regarding Abu Ishaq

أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِعَضَلَةِ سَاقِي فَقَالَ «هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الْإِزَارِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَدُونَ هَذَا فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَلَا حَقَّ لِلْإِزَارِ فِي الْكَعْبَيْنِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكِلَا الْحَدِيثَيْنِ خَطَأٌ وَالصَّوَابُ الَّذِي بَعْدَهُمَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the muscle of my calf and said: "This is the place of the lower garment. If you refuse, then lower than this. If you refuse, then the lower garment has no right to the ankles." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Both of these hadiths are erroneous, and the correct one is the one after them.
