✧ Prohibition of gold for men

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ جَمْعٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ «أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا؟» قَالُوا «اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ»

✧ He heard Mu'awiyah, while a group of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ was with him, say, "Do you know that the Prophet of God ﷺ forbade wearing gold except as small pieces?" They said, "O God, yes."
