✧ Entry of Transgender into Women's Spaces, and Mention of Differences on Opinions Regarding That Matter

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُخَنَّثٌ فَكَانُوا يَعُدُّونَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ وَهُوَ يَنْعَتُ امْرَأَةً فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا إِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ أَقْبَلَتْ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ أَدْبَرَتْ بِثَمَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا أَرَى هَذَا يَعْلَمُ مَا هَاهُنَا لَا يَدْخُلَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَحَجَبُوهُ»

Translation

✧ A mukhannath used to enter upon the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, and they counted him among those without desire. The Prophet ﷺ entered while he was with some of his wives, describing a woman, saying: "When she approaches, she approaches with four, and when she turns away, she turns away with eight." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Do I not see that this one knows what is here? He must never enter upon you." So they veiled him.
