✧ The shaking hands of Dhul-Muharram

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ

مَا رَأَيْتُ امْرَأَةً أَشْبَهَ حَدِيثًا وَكَلَامًا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ فَاطِمَةَ وَكَانَتْ إِذَا دَخَلَتْ بَيْتَهُ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهَا فَقَبَّلَهَا وَأَجْلَسَهَا فِي مَجْلِسِهِ وَكَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا قَامَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَبَّلَتْهُ وَأَخَذَتْ بِيَدِهِ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ فَأَسَرَّ إِلَيْهَا فَبَكَتْ ثُمَّ أَسَرَّ إِلَيْهَا فَضَحِكَتْ فَقُلْتُ كُنْتُ أَحْسَبُ أَنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَضْلًا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فَإِذَا هِيَ مِنْهُنَّ بَيْنَا هِيَ تَبْكِي إِذَا هِيَ تَضْحَكُ فَسَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي إِذًا لَبَذِرَةٌ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ «أَسَرَّ إِلَيَّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ فَبَكَيْتُ ثُمَّ أَسَرَّ إِلَيَّ أَنِّي أَوَّلُ أَهْلِهِ لُحُوقًا بِهِ فَضَحِكْتُ»

✧ I have not seen a woman whose speech and conversation resembled the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than Fatimah. When she entered his house, he would take her by the hand, kiss her, and seat her in his sitting place. When he entered upon her, she would stand up to him, kiss him, and take his hand. I entered upon him during the illness in which he died, and he whispered to her, and she wept. Then he whispered to her, and she laughed. I said: "I used to think that this woman had a special virtue over women, and now she is one of them—while she weeps, she laughs." I asked her, and she said: "Then I would be a blabbermouth." After the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, I asked her, and she said: "He whispered to me and told me that he was dying, so I wept. Then he whispered to me that I would be the first of his family to join him, so I laughed."
