أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ لَمَّا قَدِمَ الشَّامَ قَامَ فَقَالَ
إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِينَا كَقِيَامِي فِيكُمْ فَقَالَ «أَكْرِمُوا أَصْحَابِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَظْهَرُ الْكَذِبُ فَيَحْلِفُ الرَّجُلُ وَلَا يُسْتَحْلَفُ وَيَشْهَدُ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ بُحْبُحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْفَذِّ وَهُوَ مِنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ أَبَعْدُ وَلَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us like my standing among you and said: “Honor my Companions, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then lying will appear, and a man will swear an oath without being asked to swear, and will give testimony without being asked to testify. Whoever wishes for the midst of Paradise, let him adhere to the community, for Satan is with the solitary person and is farther from two. No man should be alone with a woman who is not lawful for him, for the third of them is Satan.”
