أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ وَقَدْ نَصَبْتُ عَلَى بَابِ حُجْرَتِي عَبَاءَةً وَعَلَى عُرْضِ بَيْتِهَا سِتْرٌ أَرْمَنِّيٌّ فَدَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ قَالَ لِي يَا عَائِشَةُ «مَا لِي وَلِلدُّنْيَا؟ فَهَتَكَ الْعُرْضَ حَتَّى وَقَعَ الْأَرْضَ وَفِي سَهْوَتِهَا سِتْرٌ فَهَبَّتْ رِيحٌ فَكَشَفَتْ نَاحِيَةً عَنْ بَنَاتٍ لِعَائِشَةَ لَعَبٍ» فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا عَائِشَةُ؟» قَالَتْ بَنَاتِي وَرَأَى بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانِيهِنَّ فَرَسٌ لَهُ جَنَاحَانِ قَالَ «وَمَا هَذَا الَّذِي أَرَى وَسَطَهُنَّ؟» قَالَتْ فَرَسٌ قَالَ «وَمَا هَذَا الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ؟» قَالَتْ جَنَاحَانِ قَالَ «فَرَسٌ لَهُ جَنَاحَانِ؟» قَالَتْ «أَوَ مَا سَمِعْتَ أَنَّ لِسُلَيْمَانَ خَيْلًا لَهَا أَجْنِحَةٌ فَضَحِكَ ﷺ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ نَوَاجِذَهُ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ arrived from a military expedition, and I had hung a cloak of coarse wool over the door of my chamber, and on the side of her house was an Armenian curtain. He entered the house. When he saw it, he said to me, "O Aisha, what have I to do with the world?" Then he tore down the side covering until it fell to the ground. In her alcove was another curtain, and a wind blew and lifted a corner revealing dolls that belonged to Aisha. He said, "What is this, O Aisha?" She said, "My daughters." And he saw among them a horse with two wings. He said, "What is this that I see in their midst?" She said, "A horse." He said, "What is this on it?" She said, "Two wings." He said, "A horse with two wings?" She said, "Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings?" The Prophet ﷺ laughed until I saw his molar teeth.
