أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَرًا أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَ نِسَائِهِ فَأَيَّتُهُنَّ خَرَجَ سَهْمُهَا خَرَجَ بِهَا مَعَهُ وَكَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِكُلِّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ يَوْمَهَا وَلَيْلَتَهَا غَيْرَ أَنَّ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ وَهَبَتْ يَوْمَهَا وَلَيْلَتَهَا لِعَائِشَةَ تَبْتَغِي بِذَلِكَ رِضَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ»

✧ She said: “When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to travel, he would cast lots among his wives, and whichever of them the lot fell upon, he would take her with him. And he used to allot for each of his wives her day and night, except that Sawdah bt. Zam‘ah gave her day and night to ‘A’ishah, seeking thereby the pleasure of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
