✧ A man's love for some of his women is more than others.

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ رُمَيْثَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ

أَنَّ نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَلَّمْنَهَا أَنْ تُكَلِّمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يَتَحَرُّونَ بِهَدَايَاهُمْ يَوْمَ عَائِشَةَ وَتَقُولُ لَهُ «إِنَّا نُحِبُّ الْخَيْرَ كَمَا تُحِبُّ عَائِشَةَ فَكَلَّمَتْهُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهَا فَلَمَّا دَارَ عَلَيْهَا كَلَّمَتْهُ أَيْضًا فَلَمْ يُجِبْهَا» وَقُلْنَ مَا رَدَّ عَلَيْكِ قَالَتْ «لَمْ يُجِبْنِي» قُلْنَ لَا تَدَعِيهِ حَتَّى يَرُدَّ عَلَيْكِ تَنْظُرِينَ مَا يَقُولُ فَلَمَّا دَارَ عَلَيْهَا الثَّالِثَةَ كَلَّمَتْهُ فَقَالَ «لَا تُؤْذِينِي فِي عَائِشَةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَنْزِلْ عَلَيَّ الْوَحْيُ وَأَنَا فِي لِحَافِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ إِلَّا فِي لِحَافِ عَائِشَةَ»

✧ The wives of the Prophet ﷺ spoke to her, that she should speak to the Prophet ﷺ, that people were seeking to send their gifts on 'A'ishah's day, and she should say to him: "We love good just as 'A'ishah loves it." So she spoke to him, but he did not answer her. When he came to her turn, she spoke to him again, but he did not answer her. They said, "What did he reply to you?" She said, "He did not answer me." They said, "Do not leave him until he replies to you, so you can see what he says." When he came to her the third time, she spoke to him, and he said: "Do not harm me regarding 'A'ishah, for revelation has never descended upon me while I was in the blanket of any of you women except in the blanket of 'A'ishah."
