✧ The prayer at the digging of the trench

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ وَحَفِظْتُهُ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَدَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ فَانْتُدِبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ فَانْتُدِبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ فَانْتُدِبَ الزُّبَيْرُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيًّا وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ»

✧ I heard Jabir b. Abdullah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for volunteers on the day of the trench, and al-Zubayr volunteered. Then he called them again, and al-Zubayr volunteered. Then he called them again, and al-Zubayr volunteered. He said: “Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is al-Zubayr.”
